About Fly to Mars
“News on Planet Mars invade the media weekly with new discoveries, images and scientific projects that will take astronauts to the red planet. It is the next step in the exploration of the Universe. With this in mind and having read a lot on scientific publications on Mars, I decided to create this photographic essay. The images were taken during helicopter flights over Chile’s Atacama Desert, a region with a baffling similarity to Planet Mars, that has been used by NASA as testing ground for robots. Despite the stunning panorama, the region is rarely photographed due to over flight difficulties. I used a 35mm digital camera to create a more ‘Martian’ atmosphere and interfered in the original image manipulating its colors.”
